6: What makes Good Character Design?

  • Pipeline setup and scene referencing.

  • Discuss technical issues of Character design, rigging options.

  • Discuss the importance of communication between rigging and animation departments.


  • Complete your 3D Previs. Unless perfect, your previs should be worked on every week regardless of whether or not it was gone over in class.

  • Begin work on Character and Environment design. Refine and explore variation if already done.

  • Finalize class short models, previs, and designs. Continue look dev. Begin texturing, shading, rigging, and animation tests.
